Gisella Stapleton is a Peruvian artist who specializes in large scale paintings and in collective art projects. She has a degree in Education and Psychology from Valladalid and UNED Universities in Salamanca, Spain. Gisella Stapleton set out to empower minorities starting from women in patriarchal societies to every silenced community which needs to be voiced. Her intention and her practice compliment each other, Stapleton lives in London but travels through Europe and Latin America for collective art projects. Her latest works are inspired by The Fauvism Movement in art and Pop Art, but color blocking and clashing tones have been her comfort zone ever since she first held a paint brush with her mother in her Peru studio. In her words: colors bring joy, optimism and hope.
